Final Video: Sh. Yasir Qadhi

  1. I can almost bet that brother is not from Tayybah…

  2. I can’t believe I missed out on this class :(

InshaAllah khair, I will take this some other time iA.

  3. That brother is from Tayybah, he is from Long Island :)

  4. I don;t buy that! He is probably a wanna-be Tayybite, but too bad!

  5. Masha’Allah, such a great class and I already miss learning from our amazing Sh Yasir Qadhi and hanging out with the bros. Very nice work with the live blog and I am already looking forward to the next class insha’Allah.

  6. Please post the special announcement video :D

  7. Just to clarify that brother may live in Long Island, but has NOT taken a TAYYBAH class yet. So i dont think it is fair for him to refer to himself as Tayybah. I took this class in Nurayn and i am a Tayybi, and just to put this out there, TAYYBAH > NURAYN!!

  8. GoldenLife says:

This was very exhilarating!!!! Talk about an EMAN RUSH?!!! It straightened out soooo much of any confusion that I have had about my deen. I suspect that this and other seminars are a MUST for the average American Muslim convert. Lots of Allah’s good blessings to all involved. Keep Up The Great Work, AlMagrib. What wonderful hosting, Nurayn!!! InshaAllah, I will be at the next Nuraynie seminar and ILMFEST 2009!!! (and to think I was in the process of purchassing airline tickets to Alberta, Canada!!! Now I’ll have more money to spend on those baked goodies and such!!!)

  9. "Tayybah Brother" says:

I didn’t think the tayybah brother represented himself as tayybah, and its pretty clear by his demeanor that he was joking, and y’all are taking him way too seriously. :-)

But yes, he knows nothing about Al-Maghrib, and likes to have fun trying to fit in.

  10. mA, excellent work guys!

Btw, Qabeelat Wasat has had live streaming babysitting arrangements for almost a year now: http://www.qwasat.org/2008/03/16/mommy-ilmification-with-baby-accommodation/

    :)

  11. @ SaqibSaab: I remember reading about that and asked some bro’s at wasat how it was done- from my understanding, the reserved hall is just really big, so all that needed to be done was putting a partition up and the audio feed was still going through the building. As for the powerpoint, I think you guys just loaded it on a second laptop and they just clicked slide to slide at the same pace.

not tryinna hate, just sayin that the setup above included a video stream and required more technical setup :)

  12. @SaqibSaab – I’ve done my research. No Qabeelah has done what we did. :-D We used a router, connected two laptops both streaming audio and video onto Windows Media Player. Camera connected to one laptop, the other laptop receives the video and audio footage from the host laptop through the router. Everything wired so it’s the best quality both video and audio.

Come on now! Nurayn isn’t #3 in the USA for no reason! :-D

InshaAllah you guys can learn from us…hahaha.

  13. @SaqibSaab – What darthvaider and MR said ;)

  14. Hosna has live streaming to the babysitting room as well. Sorry to burst your bubble :)

  15. @giacomodefayfay – All these other qabeelat are claiming this, but Nurayn actually has the daleel. :-D

  16. Does anyone have a problem with the audio on here? I don’t get any sound when I click on the videos. I only have a problem on this website, not anyone else’s. Technical problem on your end maybe?

  17. use internet explorer. I couldnt hear it using mozilla, but they worked fine in IE.

  18. Nurayn, awesome work and mabrook on getting ILMFEST insha’Allah, it’s going to be really awesome over there!

However, MR, I have to take exception to one point – you’re not the first qabeelah to stream – WASAT is the first to stream the class into the babysitting room (heck, we pioneered the idea to accomodate babysitting and remove the reliability of watching kids), and as SaqibSaab said, we’ve been doing it for a while now – who do you think shared this idea with the other ameers and ameerahs both through email discussion and in person at Ilm Summit in the first place ;)

You can be the second qabeelah =D

  19. @DarthVaider: I remember reading about that and asked some bro’s at wasat how it was done- from my understanding, the reserved hall is just really big, so all that needed to be done was putting a partition up and the audio feed was still going through the building. As for the powerpoint, I think you guys just loaded it on a second laptop and they just clicked slide to slide at the same pace.

Don’t know who you asked, we never set it up like that – we tried two approaches to see which ones mothers preferred – the first approach was to do what you did, streaming the video in, and we had an audio patch connected to the second room, so mothers heard the class material as well and as loudly as we could.

The second option which we did at SS was to see if Powerpoints were preferred over seeing the speaker in the other room – the difference from what you said and what we did was that the power points were synched up, so when the speaker changed the powerpoint on our end, it would change on the babysitting room as well ;)

We then surveyed mothers and found they liked the first approach better, and decided to go with that going forward.

    Don’t hate ;)

  20. Oum Aadam says:

I can personally testify to how AWESOME the babysitting room was. I was one of the mothers who was there with my infant the whole weekend, and Ma sha Allah, it worked out perfectly! We mothers were making so much du’a for the brothers who put this together.
